Sylvester CHA has a broad background
in hospitality management and marketing over three decades with Westin
Hotels & Resorts, and with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Single and multi-unit management
positions included: General Manager of six properties including the
famed Bellevue Stratford Hotel (Philadelphia), The Westin Canal Place
(New Orleans), The St. Regis (Houston), and The Westin Galleria and
Westin Oaks (Houston), among others, including property opening
assignments in Europe and Asia; Area Managing
Director responsible for the operations and marketing of Westin
properties in Louisiana, Texas and Central America, where cluster
marketing, and aggressive cross selling helped to deliver stellar market
share and RevPar; corporate
assignments included global Director of Rooms; Area Director for Six
Sigma, where he adapted many of the Six Sigma processes and filtering
tools for the marketing function; Pre opening Operations & Marketing for new Starwood branded Westin and Sheraton products
throughout the United States.
In addition, he led
the re-flagging and market positioning of numerous properties, and
filled various roles in the opening of some thirty Westin hotels and
resorts in Europe, Asia and North America. He also served on the board
of Westin Hotels & Resorts' Advertising Corporation.
